Adeline Blondieau: her confidences on her romantic relationship with Johnny Hallyday

Adeline Blondieau spoke of her relationship with Johnny Hallyday in the columns of Paris Match on the occasion of a special issue to appear on April 1.

They had a difficult love affair. On July 9, 1990, Adeline Blondieau, then aged 19, married in Ramatuelle with Johnny Hallyday. The rocker was a friend of her father whom she had known from childhood. Separated two years later, the actress and the singer are remarried in Las Vegas in April 1994 before finally breaking up. A relationship on which Adelin Blondieau has agreed to return to the columns of Paris Match for a special issue to appear on April 1 and devoted to legendary couples. She first confided in the time of their meeting. “We spent vacations together. He would promise me he was going to marry me when I grew up. From the top of my 6 years I thought it was great. It sounded like a fairy tale and I believed it“, she first said. The fairy tale came true when Johnny Hallyday, freshly separated from Nathalie Baye, found refuge for “only a few days“with the parents of his future wife.

A game-changing accommodation. “What was supposed to last only a few days, to pull itself together, lasted almost a year, she said first before specifying: And we were still kidding with that promise of marriage. Then things changed. We got closer. We were very accomplices. Then the relationship got complicated, getting more secret“. This promise, made when Adeline Blondieau was only six years old, has finally come true. “On the day of my 18th birthday he said to me:” Since you are of age I am going to be able to marry you! “It seemed absolutely obvious to us because it was the promise of always. A year later, we were married“, she admits. On July 9, 1992, the couple got married in Ramatuelle before traveling in a convertible white Rolls-Roys covered in roses to Saint Tropez. They were escorted by a group of bikers and finally arrived at the Château de la Messardière in a horse-drawn carriage a few hours later.

A dream that turns into a nightmare

During their union, Adeline Blondieau confided to have suffered greatly from the notoriety of the singer. “It was very violent. Because I was 18, so I was very young, there was a very big age difference. And Johnny fans were very aggressive with me. It was very complicated to get hit, spit on, insult when we came back or left our home“, she had confided in It starts today in 2020. In addition, she had indicated that she could not save Johnny Hallyday from his demons: “He had expectations that I couldn’t meet. He wanted me to always be by his side, he wanted a lot of presence and didn’t like loneliness. You have to love it, love it more and more. But there is a point where we say to ourselves I’m already at the limit I can’t do more “, she had explained. Of this relationship, Adeline Blondieau keeps mixed memories. Since the death of the rocker in December 2017, she has very rarely spoken on the subject.
