This measure is part of the new restrictions announced by the Prime Minister, François Legault, at a press briefing on Tuesday evening, but has gone rather unnoticed.
It affects Quebeckers who live in the red zone or in the orange zone.
“People who do not reside at the same address and who practice a sport or recreational activity together will be required to wear a mask or face cover”, we can read on the government website.
People who remain seated at a distance of more than two meters, such as in a park, are however exempt and may remove their face covering.
Remember that in the red and orange zone, outdoor gatherings in private homes are prohibited, except for people who live alone with their dependent children.
