The administration of the first dose of the anti-Covid vaccine continues to resume despite the shortage of the first doses. For its part, the administration of the second dose follows the curve of the first injections.

This Thursday, April 8, 23,916 additional people received the first dose of the Covid vaccine. The cumulative amount since the start of the campaign has reached 4,433,939 people. This accumulation exceeds the theoretical stock of the first doses (4.25 million) thanks in particular to the safety doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine.

At the same time, 37,207 people received their second dose of the vaccine. The total since the beginning is 4,075,290 people.

The epidemiological situation remains tense, with a still high level of new cases and an increase in intensive care cases.

Indeed, 635 new cases of coronavirus contamination have been detected, bringing the total to 500,323 cases, or 1,375.8 per 100,000 inhabitants. Over the last 24 hours, the incidence is 1.7 cases per 100,000 inhabitants. The majority of new cases have been detected in Casablanca.

13,757 tests were performed. The positivity rate is 4.6%.

6 new deaths were recorded, bringing the total to 8,873 deaths and the case fatality rate remains stable at 1.8%.

564 new healings were announced, for a total of 486,913 healings and a remission rate of 97.3%.

The number of active cases thus increases to 4,537 cases and that of severe or critical cases drops to 434. The occupancy rate of intensive care beds dedicated to Covid is 13.7%. 55 new severe or critical cases have been admitted over the last 24 hours. 18 are under intubation and 217 under non-invasive ventilation.
