This is what we learn in an internal press release sent by the general management of the City of Quebec and to which The newspaper had access. The document is dated Tuesday.
“Recently, several interventions were necessary with employees who did not comply with preventive measures in the workplace. Also, employees have come to the workplace with symptoms related to COVID-19, which constitutes a high risk failure for the health and safety of our employees, ”wrote management.
In this context, the City saw fit to tighten surveillance in the workplace and asked its managers to apply “zero tolerance”.
“Managers were asked to take the necessary measures to ensure that all employees comply with preventive measures and to intervene quickly in the face of shortcomings or inappropriate behavior in the current context.”
The City evokes a “disciplinary process” which could be initiated if the managers consider it necessary.
The Municipality recalls that employees must consult their manager as soon as symptoms appear or if a person or person with whom they live has had close contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19.
