COVID-19: 43 new cases identified in Bas-Saint-Laurent

According to INSPQ data, the MRC de Rivière-du-Loup has the highest rate of active cases in the province, a ratio of 533 per 100,000 inhabitants.

The number of active cases is now 303 in the region, including 186 in Rivière-du-Loup. 1,640 people have recovered from the virus since the start of the pandemic. There are now 13 hospitalizations, including four in Rimouski. The others meet in Quebec. Eight of them are in intensive care. 14 outbreaks are currently active, including nine in schools. 217 cases of variants are recorded on the Lower Laurentian territory, an increase of 55 compared to Tuesday.

  • Témiscouata : 139 (+2)
  • The Basques: 40 (+1)
  • Rimouski-Neigette: 608 (+4)
  • La Mitis: 87
  • La Matanie: 225
  • La Matapedia: 56 (+2)
  • Undetermined: 18 (+1)

In total, 1,973 people have contracted the virus in Bas-Saint-Laurent since the start of the pandemic. In Charlevoix, two new cases were identified. The MRC now has 543 cases since the start of the pandemic. For the Haute-Côte-Nord, the situation remains unchanged.
