will the epidemic peak be reached “in 7 to 10 days”?

France will be confined from April 3, in order to fight against the Covid-19 epidemic. It must be said that the health situation in which we are is complicated. Olivier Véran, the Minister of Health, explained this Thursday, April 1 in the morning that the epidemic peak could be reached in 7 to 10 days.

This seems possible since in Île-de-France, one of the most affected regions, a very slight slowdown in incidence rate has been underway for a few days. The number of new contaminations only increased by 12% over one week, which is half as much as the week before, when health restrictions were put in place. If we continue this momentum, we can consider reaching this peak in a big week, and therefore that the curve is reversed.

Mail, this slowdown must also be observed in the regions which will be under restrictions on Saturday April 3. In the Pays de la Loire, for example, new contaminations have increased by 30% over the last 7 days.

A tenable vaccination schedule?

Emmanuel Macron also established a schedule for vaccinations: the over 60 years old must be vaccinated from April 16, the over 50 from May 15, and from mid-June, it will be the turn of the under 50s.

A priori, the schedule could be kept. In April, for example, France is supposed to receive 12 million new doses, while there are 8 million people in the 60-70 age bracket, to which we add the 3 million French people between 70 and 75 years old to whom we have just opened vaccination. And 8 + 3 = 11 million!

Also, not everyone will want to be vaccinated, so it is theoretically possible. Provided, however, that there are no new delivery problems.
