It is now throughout the department that the mask must be worn by all people over eleven years old, in public spaces, and no longer in the major cities of the department, as was the case in March. .
With an incidence rate today of 270 positive cases per 100,000 inhabitants, a figure which has increased by 50% since March 12, Aveyron sees its health situation deteriorate rapidly over the days. Even more, the prefect of Aveyron Valérie Michel-Moreaux notes "a recent upsurge in intra-family clusters, within private companies and health and medico-social establishments, as well as in schools, universities and early childhood". In such a context, it was to be expected that the wearing of a mask would become compulsory again throughout the department.
The prefect of Aveyron had, since early March, circumscribed this compulsory wearing to certain areas of the department, mainly agglomerations. Now, a new decree has just been published to make it mandatory now “for any person eleven years and over on the public highway or in a place open to the public, on the entire territory of the department of Aveyron”. And this, until further notice.
And while remembering “the urgent need to respect barrier gestures”, the representative of the State urges fellow citizens “not to relax the collective effort, especially with the arrival of milder weather, which could be more conducive to gatherings”.
