Secret Story: the revelations of Dominique Duforest, the interpreter of the Voice, dredged by candidates

TMC broadcast the first part of its documentary “20 years of reality TV” on Wednesday April 6. For the occasion, Dominique Duforest, the interpreter of the Voice of Secret Story, made revelations about the candidates.

He was very honest. Reality TV is celebrating its 20th anniversary and for the occasion, TMC wanted to broadcast this Wednesday April 6 a report entitled “20 Years of Reality TV: From Loft Story to Secret Story“. In it, many candidates who have become emblematic wished to testify to their experience. Among them, there is Dominique Duforest. If his face says nothing to viewers, his voice is however very recognizable. Indeed, for ten years, he embodied the Memorable Voice of Secret Story. In this documentary, he gave himself up with an open heart and did not hesitate to confess. “The editor told me to speak in a somewhat robotic voice“, he remembers first before specifying:”I had even re-viewed 2001 the Space Odyssey. Then we do three, four shows like that and we felt that it was not natural. This is how I finally found my way of speaking“, he concludes. If on the screen, he was content to give missions to the candidates, Dominique Duforest admitted that he quickly became their confidant and he has bonded with many of them.

The candidates spontaneously came to the confessional to speak to the Voice“, he said first. In this room, many people needed to give themselves up and share their feelings. Indeed, in this game, the candidates had no way to contact their relatives. They were cut off from the world and therefore came to the confessional because they “needed to pour out “, says Dominique Duforest before admitting that some have gone further. “Yes, I was vocally dredged up. I even developed flirtations a few times with certain candidates … Well, flirting is saying a lot. Because everything is recorded, it did not go very far. But hey, there was a kind of little game of seduction we will say“, admits the actor. However, the particularity of this program is that nobody knew the face of this voice. Indeed, Dominique Duforest never appeared on the screen and many are the candidates who had confided to have discovered his face only at the end of the game. So it is his voice that has won over many candidates.

Dominique Duforest, very close to the candidates

If Dominique Duforest was just a voice in the viewers’ screen, he had confided during an interview with Sam Zirah having an important role with the candidates. “I have a small voice booth where I have 4 or 5 screens with which I can watch what’s going on in the house and interact with a candidate in a room. If the missions are written, there are rules of the game, I also have a freedom of communication with them“, he first explained before specifying: I serve a little dad, I serve a little two-ball shrink, I console them, I advise them, I calm those who go crazy, I am their main interlocutor“. He also claimed to have stayed in touch with some of them like Jonathan (season 3), Juliette (season 4) and Benoît (season 4).
