Camille Kouchner: this very last interview on the Duhamel affair

Camille Kouchner spoke in the podcast “Fracas” on the Duhamel affair this Thursday, April 8. She returned to the weight of silence, her relationship with her mother Evelyne Pisier but also her entourage.

She made new revelations. Camille Kouchner wanted to break the silence by publishing her book The Big Family on January 7th. In it, she mentioned the incest perpetrated by his stepfather Olivier Duhamel against her twin, when the latter was a teenager. Charges that have allowed many victims to find the courage to testify. This Thursday, April 8, she was the guest of Louie Media’s “Fracas” podcast and broadcast on Radio Nova. For the occasion, she made new confidences. “I came to understand that this silence was not my brother’s intention“, she said first before adding:”It was not a secret imposed by him. I understood that I received the influence the same way he did. I realized that I was completely a victim of my parents’ hold on us“. Camille Kouchner also returned to her greatest fear, that of harming.”I am terrified of harming. This is what is twisted in fact, this is the perversity of what we make children wear, direct or indirect victims, it is that responsibility. I’m afraid of harming my twin, my children, my cousins …“, she concludes.

While she wished to lift the veil on this whole story, Camille Kouchner said she did not have the impression “to break a secret between my brother and me“. She confides:”First, because my brother talked to my mom and dad. Whenever it was important to talk, he did“. According to his words, the person who has”imposed silence, it’s my father-in-law“, she says. While she hesitated for a long time to publish her book, she revealed to have”did an analysis that helped me a lot“and asked himself two very specific questions in order to be sure of his choice.” Have I been through these events? ”The answer was“ yes. ”“ Do I want this world where we let people get assaulted and we remain passive witnesses? ”The answer was“ no ”“, she confides. Making this kind of revelations is not always easy since, as Camille Kouchner explains:”We denounce people we loved a lot, in whom we trusted and above all who helped us to build the world, who transmitted us values and who gave us the words to conceive the world.“, concludes the lawyer.

“I wanted everything but harm him”

During this interview, Camille Kouchner wished to mention her mother, Evelyne Pisier. The latter had sided with Olivier Duhamel after being informed of the incest. “Maybe this is a way of excusing my mom, but I think she was a little flabbergasted by all the violence that had befallen her in life, not just the assaults on my brother.“said the lawyer before clarifying:”She also lost her parents in extremely violent conditions. I think she couldn’t take it anymore. I don’t try to justify my silence, but having such a weakened mother doesn’t help speaking. I wanted everything but harm him“. After revealing that Olivier Duhamel’s entourage was”paralyzed“Following the publication of these accusations, she indicated that she hoped that her book”will not help free speech, but the care of victims“, she concludes.
