After Bob Dylan and Neil Young, it’s the turn of Paul Simon, of the duo Simon & Garfunkel, to sell his musical catalog. The amount of the transaction was not disclosed.
The music publisher Sony Music Publishing announced on Wednesday that it has acquired the entire Paul Simon catalog, which spanned sixty years ranging from the time of Simon & Garfunkel to the years when Paul Simon made solo career.
I am delighted that Sony Music Publishing will become the repository of my songs for decades to come. I started my career with Columbia / Sony Records and also working with the Publishing side seems a logical continuation to me., the 79-year-old artist said in a statement.
