Last week, Infinity Ward added a trio of new maps for Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare, but the studio absent-mindedly removed them, with no explanation.

Last week, the US version of IGN reported that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, a priori abandoned by Activision, was offered the iconic Killhouse from Call of Duty 4, as well as two new maps named Al-Raab Airbase and Drainage.

But as Eurogamer noticed, two of these maps have been removed, along with the Killhouse 24/7 playlist. Drainage and Al-Raab were playable in private matches, but if you log in now you won’t be able to choose them with custom settings.

It is not clear why these maps were first added, let alone removed. Neither Activision nor Infinity Ward commented on this chain of events, adding to the ambient confusion. An official explanation is, perhaps, in the pipes.
