In less than 24 hours, Tundra Tracker far exceeded its Kickstarter goal of $ 250,000. The numbers already go over $ 600,000 with 59 days left for the campaign.
Users are currently looking for a less expensive and smaller SteamVR Tracking compatible tracker than the Vive Tracker. The Tundra Tracker may very well be a great option. This is a tracker in development by Tundra Labs. To complete the development of the product, the company launched a Kickstarter campaign with an initial target of $ 250,000. However, only a few hours were enough to far exceed the latter.
The prized 7x Tundra Tracker pack
If Tundra Tracker was able to reach over $ 600,000 in less than 24 hours, it is thanks to some 1,570 donors individual. They invested between $ 42 to $ 630 to support the project.
Over 67% of contributors have opted for the 3x Tundra Tracker pack so far. However, those who have chosen the Tundra Tracker 7x pack are not to be overlooked either. Indeed, their number is rather surprising with a percentage of 17 %.
With 3 trackers, users can add waist and foot tracking points. These therefore accompany the hand and head tracking provided by a VR headset. However, with 7 trackers, they will be able to enjoy body tracking still more precise. It is then possible to follow the movement of the knees, elbows, feet and waist in addition to the hands and head.
The supplied accessories
No matter what contributors choose, they should be entitled to elastic straps to attach trackers to their body. There is also a storage case.
The Kickstarter versions of the trackers are also accompanied by two plates base allowing you to choose between different mounting options.
In any case, Tundra Labs plans to deliver the first Tundra Trackers to early bird contributors. from July. For the rest, we have to wait until September.
