Prioritize the message posted by your best friend asking for help with their move rather than targeted advertising. This is what Facebook now promises to its users thanks to the new “Favorites” option. The social network has just added this new functionality to manage news feeds, kinds of home pages of accounts where the content posted by your connections can be found.

“We recently launched ‘Favorites’, a new tool that lets you control and prioritize the posts of friends and pages that interest you most in the News Feed,” Facebook said Wednesday. Users can thus save so-called “favorite” profiles which will appear in priority on their accounts. Please note, the list of favorites is still limited since only 30 profiles can be saved in this way.

Also control your audience

At the same time, Facebook announced another novelty concerning the messages posted by the users themselves. When sharing content, they can now choose their scope, that is, the people who will have access to it.

A feature visibly created to limit offensive comments if we are to believe what the teams of the social network are to believe. We read on the Facebook site: “If you are a public figure, a creator or a brand, you can also choose to limit your audience for comments on your public posts to help you feel safe and start conversations. more meaningful to your community. ”

According to information from the specialized site PhoneAndroid, these new tools are already available on the Facebook application and should be in a few weeks for the web version of the social network.
