This giant lizard (known as the monitor lizard) surprises customers at a convenience store (video)

Customers of this mini-market located in Thailand will remember this seemingly banal visit to buy some food. Indeed, this giant lizard known as the monitor lizard measuring more than 1.80 meters made a surprise appearance in a supermarket and climbed the shelves of this establishment in search of food.

The giant reptile triggered panic after emerging from a nearby canal and rushed into the 7-Eleven store in Nakhon Pathom, Thailand on Wednesday.

Staff and customers hid behind the counter as the beast rampaged through the store and threw cartons of food and drink on the floor.

A salesman then alerted the police who arrived with tools capable of controlling the reptile, the Sun newspaper tells us.

In the clip, recorded on April 6, the lizard walks around in front of bewildered customers.

The lizard makes its way through the establishment, climbs the shelves. He then rushes over the shelves, throwing the products to the floor as they go, customers shouting in the background.
