Take the exam or have a zero point: students from Ile-de-France positive for Covid-19 had to decide | World

Students from Ile-de-France positive for Covid-19 went to the Arcueil exam center last Friday to take their BTS English exam. If they didn’t show up for the test, they got a zero out of twenty. The Covid-19 was therefore not a valid reason to justify their absence, even if a doctor wrote a note to present the symptoms. They therefore had to take the risk of going there at the risk of infecting the other candidates, and sometimes being physically weakened by the disease. “I had a little fever, body aches and headaches. If we were sick, we had zero. It is not eliminatory, but it was zero so it was important for me that I could pass my exam ”affirms a student at BFM Paris.

The conditions were not ideal for passing the exam. And that’s not all. Despite the situation, the sanitary measures were very weak. The students were crowded for a long time in the corridors while waiting to enter their examination room. At the instigation of the “BTS in distress” collective, the students demand the cancellation of the test and the passage to continuous testing.
