Morocco, 26th, passes South Korea and Israel

The 2021 MIT Technology Review Insights index places Morocco 26th in the global ranking of countries fighting climate change. This rank places the Kingdom ahead of South Korea and Israel.
Morocco occupies 26th place in the global ranking of The Green Future Index of MIT Technology Review Insights. The organization determines the countries that have made efforts in terms of renewable energies and the fight against climate change. This year Morocco’s efforts have propelled it ahead of South Korea (31ᵉ), or Israel (38ᵉ).

MIT Technology Review Insights indicates that the Kingdom has embarked on an ambitious policy in the fight against climate change in recent years and has launched major projects in this direction. Among these projects is the Noor complex in Ouarzazate, a gigantic solar project carried out by the Kingdom as part of its energy strategy. This project aims to increase the share of renewable energies in the national electricity mix to more than 52% by 2030.

Better performances are expected for Morocco in the coming years. In the same classification the United States are classified in the 40th position and France has managed to clinch the 4th place. The Green Future Index 2021 through its work pays tribute to the efforts made by Morocco in terms of clean technologies and innovations in the field of renewable energies.
