The two individuals of 30 and 35 had dyed their hair and eyebrows before showing up with false identities two weeks ago at a vaccination center in the Mexican capital, Mexico City mayor Claudia Sheinbaum confirmed at a conference. press release Wednesday.

The cronies have received a dose of the vaccine, while currently in Mexico only people employed in the public health sector, teachers and people over 60 years of age can benefit from the vaccination against Covid-19.

The scammers, however, have been exposed because of their voices. They were arrested and are being prosecuted for tampering with their identity cards.

To date, just over 1.3 million people, or about 1% of the population, are fully immunized in Mexico.

With vaccine deliveries low at times, the Mexican government has accused wealthy countries of “stealing” vaccines.

With more than 126 million inhabitants, Mexico is the third country in the world which records the most deaths attributed to the new coronavirus (205,000), after the USA and Brazil.
